Newborn baby photoshoot

The session is conducted in the comfort of my studio, featuring a variety of props and specialized bean bag poses. Props can be utilized up to four weeks of age, while the beanbag poses are best completed before your infant reaches two weeks.

The most ideal time for the formal curled up poses is between 5-10 days when baby is still very sleepy and curls up beautifully. As baby grows past this time frame, they tend to be more awake, stretch out, and sometimes more prone to colic or baby acne. The posed and prop sessions are only done in the studio, where I have a big collection of props and things.

Newborn photoshoots are scheduled during the week only due to the session's unpredictability. Weekdays are more flexible and can sometimes be arranged on short notice, within a week. However, I recommend contacting me during your pregnancy to discuss your photoshoot and avoid disappointment.

The session includes parents and siblings, with special arrangements needed for grandparents due to limited seating availability.

It is very delicate work and the best time to do these poses are with babies under 2 weeks of age, who are still naturally curled up in the fetal position. After two weeks most babies have gotten used to stretching out, making it more difficult to pose baby curled up in their tummies and to stay in the position long enough to take a photo.

A new baby is such a blessing and also very life changing event. Emotions (and birth hormones) are high - its normal!

Baby grows so fast and I like to tell my mom's "Just hold baby as much as you can. They grow up so fast! Before you know it, baby is running around everywhere"

Love, treasure the moments and capture as much as you can. At first we remember all the giggly and funny faces. Soon our mental memory box is over flowing and we can't remember it all.

Older babies

If baby is a little older than 3 weeks, a baby session can still be done. Please just note, all depending on baby's age will determine the posing.

After every week baby grows very fast and we dont always realise until we look back at the photos taken just last week :)

As baby grows, the posing changes as well. Baby is more alert, awake for longer periods during the photoshoot and sometimes awake the whole photoshoot. They are more stretched out and more alert. The window for wrapped poses and tummy poses are quite small.

That being said, photos can be done at any age. It just becomes less posed, more relaxed and we capture baby's personality. The Lifestyle package is ideal for babies older than a month.

The Lifestyle baby session can still be done for babies under a month as well, if you prefer the lifestyle newborn opposed to the styled newborn. For babies under 3 weeks there are more options. And for babies a month and older we look at a more relaxed baby lifestyle approach.

How old must baby be for a newborn shoot: Ideally under 10 days when baby is still very sleepy.
What do we bring to our newborn photoshoot?: Only yourselves, baby and baby bag. I discuss parent photoshoot outfits in my email.
Do we need to bring outfits or props?: Nope, I have everything I need to make your session beautiful and special :)
Are siblings and parent photos included?: Yes, all my newborn photoshoot package options include sibling and parent photos.
What if baby does not sleep?: I have some trick and in most cases we manage to keep baby relaxed and sleepy. Sometimes it does happen where baby is awake the whole session. It does not happen often, but when it does, we just keep working through. One of the big reasons I prefer to see baby under 10 days is that most babies are still very sleepy. After 10 days they become a bit more alert.
